Position Title
PRN Anesthesia Service Coordinator
Liberty Hospital
Position Summary / Career Interest:
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of logistics and operational resources for the Anesthesiology Department and provides operational and systems support to all Procedural Services departments. Maintains and changes supply inventory par levels to meet volume demands; problem-solving for staff and physicians.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Orders and maintains anesthesia inventory levels in anesthesia department; including specialty orders; identifies substitutes due to any backorders.
  • Maintains supplies on the trauma cart, difficult airway cart and lung cart.
  • Work with reps, purchasing, and central supply to coordinate trial of new supplies or any change in inventory.
  • Identify and coordinate potential cost savings in anesthesia department.
  • Prime IV/invasive lines and assist with placement.
  • Assist with difficult intubations.
  • Assist in critical situations; assist with transporting patients.
  • Maintains and stocks all anesthetizing locations with anesthesia supplies specific to that area in anesthesia machine and Pyxis and stock cabinets in all Procedural Services areas.
  • Troubleshoot anesthesia equipment.
  • Setup EV1000 (noninvasive arterial line) for use in OR.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness for all anesthesia areas; applies infection control measures and safety/waste disposal guidelines.
  • Clean and maintain anesthesia equipment.
  • Assist in setup of TEE machine, as needed.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • 2 or more years in a surgery clinical role, preferably as a scrub tech or as an anesthesia tech.

  • Associates Degree
  • Experience with supply chain management, customer service and systems analysis

Preferred Licensure and Certification
  • Certified Anesthesia Technician - American Society of Anesthesia Technicians-Technologists (ASATT)
  • Scrub Tech certification
