Job Goal:
The Part-Time Preschool Instructional Coach supports early childhood educators in implementing high-quality instructional practices that promote positive learning outcomes for preschool children. The coach works collaboratively with teachers to strengthen classroom instruction, child engagement, curriculum implementation, and developmentally appropriate practices through coaching, modeling, observation, feedback, and professional development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Coaching
  • Provide individualized coaching and support to preschool teachers through classroom observations, reflective conversations, and action planning.
  • Model effective instructional strategies and developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
  • Assist teachers in creating engaging, inclusive, and child-centered learning environments.
  • Support implementation of curriculum, assessment tools, and instructional programs.
  • Help teachers analyze child assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth.

Assist teachers with creating developmentally appropriate IEPs.
Classroom Quality and Compliance
  • Conduct classroom observations to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support compliance with state early childhood standards, licensing requirements, and program expectations.
  • Assist teachers in implementing positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies.

Collaboration and Communication
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and support staff to improve instructional quality.
  • Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and program improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain coaching documentation and progress records.

Experience
  • Minimum of three years of successful preschool teaching experience.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or leading professional development for educators preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood curriculum, assessment, and instructional best practices.

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of child development and early learning standards.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with teachers and staff.
