Job Summary
The Maintenance Technicians/Electrical Mechanics are the main responder to emergency situations. They carry out preventive and corrective maintenance at the electrical and mechanical level of the baggage handling system.This will be done during the dwell periods in between the flights and in the other non-operational hours.
Hourly Rate: $24.00 to $42.00
Responsibilities
  • Maintain superior customer service and safe working practice at ALL times.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, SICK ATR systems, baggage handling equipment and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals and manufacturer's specifications using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Inspect diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Communicate with various parties on the work performed and present status of specialty systems.
  • Analyze root causes of Electrical failures and propose remedy and resolution as well as continuous monitoring for ways to improve and optimize the system.
  • Interpret schematics and engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s).
  • React to call outs from the Control Room Operator or manager executing service calls CM, PM and EM.
  • Preventive Maintenance - Inspection, adjustment, cleaning, replacement and prepare follow-up CM work orders if needed.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High-school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Background check and drug screen required
  • Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge
  • Electrical/Mechanical training and experience in an industrial environment or minimum 3 years' experience as maintenance mechanic.

Preferred Skills
  • Strong electrical trouble shooting, conveyor and controls systems
  • Siemens, Allen Bradley PLC Systems
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and electromechanical devices up to 480 volts such as motors, DC clutches, switches, panels, controls, etc. DC Drives knowledge a plus
  • Experience working on (PBB) Jet Bridges

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Employees work in the assured management areas of baggage, at repair stations, or at airfields and often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
  • Employees will be working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Employees may be exposed to various noise levels due to aircraft engines and equipment.
  • Employees bend, lean, and frequently reach ladders and scaffolding.
  • Employees are required to regularly speak and hear.
  • Employees are often required to reach with their hands and arms.
  • Employees may be required to perform a variety of activities that could include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing throughout their day.
  • Employees frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds with the help of teammates.
  • Employees will lift parts and tools for long periods of time and handle equipment such as transportation systems.
