Retail Center Part-Time Associate
The Retail Center Part-Time Associate for The UPS Store delivers world-class customer service to all customers at this retail store location, including small business owners, corporate professionals, and busy families by receiving, processing, and packing shipments for local, national, and international delivery. He/she will also be responsible for daily tasks of Notary and print services, mail-room management, and operating copiers, faxing, binding and laminating equipment, and cash registers. The Part Time Retail Associate will expertly advise our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products and services that include shipping, printing, mailboxes, Notary, shredding, faxing and scanning while offering the best-value options and exhibiting confidence by knowing best practices as related to the industry.
This is a part-time position, 25-35 hours per week during a 7-day work week. The ideal candidate will have previous retail sales experience. High school diploma or equivalent preferred with college experience a plus. Must be eligible to become a Texas Notary Public, possess strong computer and internet skills, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He/she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries
  • Take ownership of customers' packing, shipping, and/or print problems and offers viable solutions
  • Help with other Center functions as needed, such as faxing, copying, laminating, and binding
  • Expertly operate point of sale (POS) equipment
  • Continuously practice good listening skills with customers and UPS Store team members and leadership
  • Take action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends
  • Ongoing Web Based Training will be required
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred with college experience a plus
  • Previous retail experience is a plus
  • Eligibility to become a Texas Notary Public (over 18 years of age, no criminal record)
  • Willing/able to work a 25 to 35 hour-per-week for a 7-day work week
  • Some lifting required
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
  • Outstanding phone skills
  • Prompt, reliable, and responsible
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Current Driver's License and ability to assist with company van pick up and deliveries desired
  • Uniform shirts and nametags will be provided and must be worn when on duty
