Position Summary
The Aultman Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional nurse that provides direct, primary nursing care to patients/residents. The RN delegates and coordinates patient care, based upon a documented assessment of the patient's/resident's needs. The RN supervises the care provided by individuals such as licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians/state tested nursing assistants/nurse aides, medical assistants, and etc., if applicable.
Department Summary
The Emergency Department is a 59-bed, high-volume unit designed to support a split-flow care model that optimizes patient throughput and aligns care with acuity. The department includes Vertical and Horizontal treatment zones, a Rapid Assessment Zone, Results Pending Area, and Inpatient Holding Area. Treatment spaces are organized across four care teams and include specialized rooms for trauma, resuscitation, behavioral health, isolation, decontamination, and forensic exams. The unit is equipped to manage low- to high-acuity patients, including those requiring continuous monitoring, advanced diagnostics, and extended care. Staffing models and room utilization adjust dynamically based on patient volume, acuity, and operational needs to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality emergency care.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse through the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required.
  • Certification preferred for RNs meeting applicable certification eligibility requirements.
  • Membership in professional nursing organization preferred.

Department Qualifications
  • Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required.
  • Obtain and maintain current National Institute's of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification obtained and maintained, demonstrating competency in evidenceโ€‘based trauma assessment, intervention, and patient stabilization. Training classes are proved by Trauma Services following orientation.
  • Complete required orientation for position.
