Christ Community Church (Blackstone, MA) – Pastor


The Big Picture

Christ Community Church (cccob.org) is seeking applicants for a part-time Pastor. CCC is a nondenominational Christian church founded in 1822, affiliated with the 4Cs (Conservative Congregational Christian Conference), with an average weekly attendance of 20–25 people and one Sunday morning service each week. The pastor will lead the church’s leadership and congregation in ongoing spiritual growth.



Requirements

In partnership with the Diaconate, the Pastor is responsible for the spiritual care of the church. This includes visiting the sick; making home and hospital visits; participating in church activities; reaching others with the message of Christ; preaching the Gospel; administering sacraments and ordinances; leading public worship services; and supporting the church’s ministries in collaboration with its boards and committees.


The Pastor will advise all boards and committees and may serve as an ex officio member at their discretion.


As the leader of the church’s pastoral ministries, the Pastor collaborates with the deacons to:

lead the church in conducting its mission,

foster a community of worship, education, ministry, and service,

proclaim the Gospel to both believers and nonbelievers, and

care for church members and others in the community.


The Pastor should have a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through a spirit of acceptance, love, and care for each person.

The Pastor will lead the congregation in the Lord’s Supper, or Communion, at least once each month.

The Pastor will also officiate believer baptisms and the dedication of infants and young children as needed.

The Pastor should be available to officiate weddings and funerals as needed and provide pastoral care in the most effective ways possible.

This position requires a flexible schedule with a minimum of 20 hours per week (including office hours).Compensation is $26,000 annually, and housing is not available.
