Job description

Waste Connections of Rhode Islandis looking for a safety conscious Yard Laborerto join our transfer station inPortsmouth, RI.

Pay rate:

$21.50 per hour

Schedule:

Sunday and Wednesday off
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday - 8:30am to 12:30pm

  • Checking trucks in and out of the transfer station and directing traffic at site as necessary.
  • Manual labor including paper picking, keeping landfill clean and presentable.
  • Perform yard work including cutting weeds.
  • Install temporary wind fences as required.
  • Perform general office maintenance and repairs including painting and janitorial work.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Interacting with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine safe and environmentally sound solutions to service issues.
