Position Summary

The Restaurant Receiver is responsible for receiving, inspecting, verifying, and organizing all food, beverage, and operating supply deliveries for the restaurant and food & beverage operations. This position ensures all incoming products meet quality standards, purchase order specifications, and food safety requirements while maintaining accurate inventory records and proper storage procedures. The Restaurant Receiver works closely with purchasing, culinary, warehouse, and restaurant teams to support efficient daily operations.

This role pays an hourly rate of $24.00 - $30.00

Responsibilities
  • Receive and inspect all food, beverage, and operating supply deliveries for accuracy, quality, and condition.
  • Verify delivered products against purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips to ensure quantities and specifications are correct.
  • Inspect products for freshness, quality, expiration dates, proper temperatures, and signs of damage or contamination.
  • Reject or report damaged, spoiled, or incorrect shipments in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate receiving records and enter deliveries into inventory or purchasing systems.
  • Label, date, and properly store products following First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory rotation procedures.
  • Ensure all refrigerated, frozen, and dry goods are stored promptly and in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Organize storage areas to maintain cleanliness, efficiency, and accessibility.
  • Assist with inventory counts, stock replenishment, and product transfers as needed.
  • Communicate delivery discrepancies, shortages, or quality concerns to purchasing and management.
  • Coordinate with vendors and delivery personnel to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Maintain receiving docks, storage rooms, coolers, freezers, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Operate pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment safely, as required.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company policies.
  • Support restaurant, banquet, cafe, and culinary operations by ensuring products are available when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous receiving, warehouse, inventory, food service, hospitality, or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Experience receiving food and beverage products in a high-volume environment is highly desirable.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management or purchasing systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to accurately verify quantities and invoices.
  • Food Handler Certification required (or ability to obtain within the required timeframe).
  • Forklift or pallet jack certification preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects regularly.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and repetitive lifting.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, warehouse, and loading dock environments.
