Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA) Location: UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. Shift: Day. Hours per week: 40. Salary range: $150,500 - $175,600 annually. Benefits: Eligible. Overview UHS is seeking an experienced physician assistant to join the growing cardiothoracic surgery service line. Responsibilities Coordinate patient care. Provide counseling to patients about concerns under the direction of supervising physician(s). Round on patients admitted to the hospital; review care plans with nursing staff as established by physicians. Assist in the operating room. Vein harvest experience required. Perform physical assessments, complete patient histories. Complete discharge summaries. Order medications, treatments, labs, etc. Be available for call about patient conditions according to the pre-established schedule, including holiday responsibilities. Perform other duties as determined by supervising physician(s). Qualifications Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA). Current licensure with the state of New York as a physician assistant (PA). Completion of an accredited PA program. Master of Science in Physician Assistant related field (if applicable). Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience in cardiovascular surgical settings including ECMO, IABP, Impella, TAVR, CABG, and thoracic and foregut surgery.
