What We Offer
Registered Nurse Oncology
Position: Oncology Registered Nurse
Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Department: Hematology Clinic (Infusion Section)
Shift: Full-Time / 8 or 10 hours shifts available/No Weekends, No Holidays

Key Points:
  • Document the information in the patients EMR.
  • Rooming of patients and assisting physicians with treatment needs.
  • Explain all processes to patients in plain language and utilize teach back to ensure understanding.
  • Infusion Procedures.
  • Dialogues with the patient/chosen support system to identify what is important to them and incorporate his/her preferences and norms into the individualized care plan.

What We're Looking For:
  • RN licensure in NC or compact state
  • Nursing degree from an accredited program (BSN preferred)
  • Minimum of one to two years nursing experience, preferably in an oncology environment, required.
  • Willingness to earn your Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) within 30 months

What We're Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: Minimum of one to two years nursing experience, preferably in an oncology environment, required.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
    • ENPC, TNCC or CEN; preferred.
    • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire, required.
    • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN, BMT) within 30 months of employment with signed OCN education agreement, required.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care. Displays excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possesses knowledge of NMG/FMC policies/standards. Demonstrates self-directed learning through completion of any orientation requirements, nursing certification/updates and continuing education programs. Possesses clinical assessment skills relative to the hematology or oncology patient/family. Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer.
