Job description

Job Title: Part-Time Clinical Research Obesity Medicine Physician (Must Own Clinic/Practice)
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Schedule: Part-Time (0-8 hours/week)
Start Date: Within 0-6 months

About the Role
We are seeking a board-certified physician in Obesity Medicine to serve as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Sub-Investigator (Sub-I) in Phase I-IV clinical trials. The physician will ensure protocol compliance, oversee patient safety, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the successful execution of clinical research studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as PI or Sub-I for obesity medicine and multi-therapeutic clinical trials

  • Conduct medical screenings, assessments, and physical examinations

  • Provide clinical oversight and ensure adherence to study protocols, ICH-GCP, and regulatory requirements

  • Document patient interactions, adverse events, and study outcomes accurately in EHR/EDC systems

  • Collaborate with coordinators, nurses, sponsors, and CROs

  • Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, audits, and investigator meetings

  • Contribute to feasibility reviews, study design input, and recruitment strategies

  • Stay current on clinical research regulations and advancements in investigational therapies

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with an active Arizona medical license

  • Board certification in Obesity Medicine

  • DEA license and BLS/ACLS certification

  • Prior clinical research experience preferred (training available for motivated candidates)

  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills

  • Commitment to ethical research practices and patient-centered care

  • Must own or operate a clinic/practice suitable for research activities.
