Applications are being accepted for the position of Adult Registered Nursing Instructor with the East Valley Institute of Technology. Preference will be given to candidates with ICU or Med Surg experience along with an additional specialty such as OB, Peds, or Mental Health.
Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) Instructor will join a dynamic academic team at EVIT to teach students how to become compassionate nurses who strive for excellence in the profession while providing quality patient care. This position provides instruction in classroom and laboratory settings, as well as at assigned clinical sites.
The RN Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing education that prepares students for professional practice. Instruction includes patient-centered care, health promotion and disease prevention, clinical and technical nursing skills, interprofessional collaboration and communication, healthcare technology and informatics, and current healthcare policies, standards, and practices. The instructor facilitates both classroom and clinical learning experiences while fostering critical thinking, clinical judgment, and professional development.
In addition, the RN instructor also engages in ongoing evaluation, development, and enhancement of the nursing curriculum to ensure alignment with program outcomes, educational best practices, and workforce needs. It is also the instructor's responsibility to maintain compliance with all applicable accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies while promoting academic excellence and continuous program improvement.
Job Type: Part Time, 20 Hours per week. 12 Month Calendar
Salary: $38,894.50 - $46,487.00 Placement in the range will be based on a combination of education, industry related experience, teaching experience, and certification.
Please Note: it is mandatory to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System plan (ASRS), which includes the regular contribution rate of 11.86% for retirement and 0.14% for Long-Term Disability per pay period. EVIT matches the retirement contribution dollar for dollar.
Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Two years of RN experience providing direct patient care.

Licensing /Certification and Other Requirements
  • Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing or multi-state privilege to practice in Arizona by first day of employment.
  • CPR/BLS Certification.
  • Level 1 IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Proof of al current immunizations/titers
  • Proof of negative PPD or negative Chest x-ray.
  • If hired, candidate must submit a negative 10 panel drug screen for commonly abused controlled substances within 48 hours of job offer.
