Have you been told that you are a night owl? Do you seek the challenge of handling multiple tasks? If yes, then this position is perfect for you! Making sure our guests feel welcomed and comfortable plays a paramount role in their satisfaction at the first-ever Arts Hotel in Milwaukee. As a Night Auditor, you will also be responsible for balancing charges, maintaining files and resetting the system for the next day’s operations.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Making sure our guests feel welcomed and comfortable plays a paramount role in their satisfaction at Saint Kate. You will also be responsible for balancing charges, maintaining files and resetting the system for the next day’s operations. Take and deliver Room Service orders in a friendly and courteous manner. Park and retrieve valet vehicles. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.      Register guests, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room locations.

2.      Be able to provide accurate and appropriate hotel and area information to guests and visitors.

3.      Balance and audit for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue, and telephone revenue; assist in the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues.  Reset the system for next day operations.

4.      Balance and audit for accuracy all room and tax charges, cashier’s reports, and guest and house accounts.

5.      Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents; prepare market segmentation report, food and beverage report, and other auditing reports necessary to ensure the accurate accounting of hotel revenues and expenses.

6.      Transmit credit card batches.

7.      Balance DSTAT and get it posted before 5am.

8.      Make corrections and adjustments and handle all computer problems that might occur throughout the shift.  Be able to call system support if a system fails or issues occur.

9.      Greet and welcome guests as well as visitors, in a friendly and professional manner as they arrive to the hotel.

10.  Assist with handling noise complaints and guest relocation.

11.  Perform other duties and responsibilities asked by the Front Office Manager and Night Manager based upon department needs.

12.  Answer guest questions.

13.  Respond appropriately to guest complaints.  Make appropriate service recovery gestures in order to assure guest satisfaction.  Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up.

14.  Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1.      Knowledge of accounting operations to include all aspects such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc.

2.      Basic mathematical skills and ability to operate a 10- key by touch.

3.      Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner.  This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.

4.      Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer.

5.      Must have excellent telephone etiquette skills.

6.      Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

7.      Must have excellent communication skills and professional manner.

8.      High school diploma or equivalent required.

9.      Cash handling experience preferred.

10.  Must pay close attention to detail.

11.  Ability to produce high quality accurate work consistently and on time.

12.  Balance work daily totals of hotel.

13.  Valid Driver’s License.

14.  May be required to work weekends, and/or holidays.
