Provo City is seeking a dependable, responsible, and people-oriented individual for a part-time Recreation Facility Supervisor position at Peaks Ice Arena. This role serves as the night supervisor, overseeing operations and facility management during recreational hours.

What is the compensation?

Pay Rate: $13.00 - $18.00per hour (depending on experience)

What will I do?

  • Oversee operations and staff for the ice arena.

  • Ensure the facility and its programs are maintained throughout a scheduled shift including, admissions, rentals, concessions, and general facility maintenance and upkeep.

  • Manage patron concerns, safety incidents, and crowd flow.

  • Assist full-time personnel and other employees as required.

What requirements do I need to apply?

  • Must be 18 years of age.

  • Sufficient experience and/or training which would demonstrate an ability to successfully perform the duties of the job.

  • Ability to learn quickly.

  • Customer service experience required.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

What are the hours?

This position oversees the Ice Arena Monday-Friday during the nighttime shift from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Employees will generally work either a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule or a Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday schedule. Typical workload is 15-25 hours per week.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

This position requires interaction with the public in busy and often stressful circumstances. This position is indoors with specialty conditions that are associated with operating an ice rink including cool temperatures and bright lights.

What is the selection process?

This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days). Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
