We are looking for energetic and personable individuals to join our team as Servers at Red Deer Resort & Casino. Under the direction of theLounge - Assistant Manager, theLounge Serveris responsible, including but not limited to ensuringour tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. This position must have a proven ability to work as a team player and leader in a fast-paced environment. The Server must be well organized and creative and possess superior communication and interpersonal skills, and must possess the ability to display a passion for excellent customer service while working in an energetic and dynamic environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves guests food and drink while following Red Deer Resort & Casino policies and procedures
  • Report any areas that require maintenance or other attention to the supervisor on shift
  • Maintain all compliance with the Health and Safety requirements of the hotel
  • Communicate with other team members and areas of the hotel when required
  • To have a complete menu and product knowledge and be able to assist guests with any dietary concerns and explain daily features with confidence
  • Have basic knowledge of alcoholic and beverage recipes; basic bartending skills may be required
  • Speak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service and attend to complaints
  • Order necessary outlet supplies using the specific requisitions
  • Clean agreed designated areas in accordance with laid down procedures and routine hygiene requirements
  • Accept payments, be responsible for cash outs
  • Come to work in full uniform, follow Alberta liquor and gaming laws
  • Performs other related duties as required


Education, Qualification and Requirements

  • Reel Facts and ProServe Certifications (through AGLC)
  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Clear criminal record check required upon hire
  • Mature and professional appearance
  • The ability to work well under pressure and be detail-oriented
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels; both inside and outside of the organization
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and oral
  • Standard First Aid with CPR & AED certification is an asset
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment


Work Environment

  • Able to stand and repeatedly walk over the course of a shift
  • Ability to tolerate exposures to heat, cold, water and noisy environment
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, there may be stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching and crouching

Hours of Work
The hours of work for this position will vary based on operational requirements and may include mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. The primary scheduling requirement will be for breakfast shifts, with availability for night shifts also required.
