Job description

The Registered Nurse renders professional nursing care to patients assigned in the Women's Center / Pediatric Area, in support of medical care as directed by medical staff and pursuant to objectives and policies of the hospital. Work encompasses direct and indirect care, patient care, and collaboration with other disciplines involved in the provision of care.

Nacogdoches Medical Center has been serving the East Texas community for nearly 50 yearswith a focus on caring for patients and a strong team environment. Service lines at the hospital include obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology (including a cath lab and electrophysiology capabilities), cancer care, neuroscience (Brainlab technology and stroke treatments) and weight loss surgery. Minimum Education: Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing

Minimum Experience: RN with minimum of 1 year Nursing experience required

Required Certification: BLS & NRP Required; ACLS preferred - must have within 3 months of hire

Required Licensure: Valid Texas RN license

  • Demonstrates competency in performing his/her role in the event of an emergency.
  • Demonstrates competency in correctly administering and maintaining fluid/volume replacement measures.
  • Demonstrates competency in the correct administration of medications and treatments.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to the following psychosocial considerations:
    1. emotional reactions of mother
    2. symbiotic relationships and mother-infant bonding
    3. family integration & relationship with significant other
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
