Job description

MPOWER Physical Therapy uses a multi-disciplinary approach that includes orthopedics, physical & occupational therapy, personal training, massage therapy, and nutrition services to provide our patients & clients with great resources to help them reach their optimal level of wellness.

The Personal Trainer role at MPOWER Physical Therapy is designed for individuals who value long-term stability, ease of access to referrals, and organic collaboration. Personal Trainers coordinate client health and wellness through programs developed in concert with physicians, surgeons, physical therapists, and personal trainers. Part-time Personal Trainers (>20 hours) can receive a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, licensure reimbursement, and more.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Understand, implement, and uphold the MPOWER model
  • Understand and implement MPOWER’s training programming model into client programming
  • Integration of other services into client care including physical therapy, massage therapy, nutrition, and collaboration with these and any other referring providers
  • Maintain a set number of training sessions per week set by MPOWER management (minimum 20)
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the facility (including availability for all team meetings and training time slots available – may include early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays)
  • Effectively track clients’ progress towards goals and ensure results
  • Manage administrative tasks consistently including but not limited to ensuring all client sessions are paid for and checked out
  • Keep accurate record of personal training hours via MPOWER’s administrative software; part time personal trainers will be compensated for training hours, required meetings, and no more than 1.5 hours of programming time per week
  • Communicate time off at least one month in advance and ensure all clients are scheduled to train with other personal trainers
  • Maintain a neat and tidy work environment and commit to maintaining an excellent facility

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • Current certification required: any NSCA, NASM or ACSM certification. Other certifications can be considered
  • CPR certification required
  • Minimum one year of one-on-one training experience and experience working with a therapeutic population preferred
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations
  • Excellent knowledge in exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, exercise prescription, and working knowledge of human anatomy and orthopedics
  • Neat, professional appearance along with kind and helpful personality
  • Handle difficult situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent follow up skills with clients and fellow team members
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Maintain patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the company
  • Comfortable effectively using MS office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook with various internet applications
