It has many great attractions including, the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, Lake Thunderbird State Park, and Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art. But, the big thing in town is the University of Oklahoma (OU). Not only does it have a world class college football program, it's also the home of about 2,000 international students. The bottom line is that OU is a great place to do international student ministry. The Norman Ministry Coordinator will:Campus Ministry Coordinate/participate in cultural activities/tripsExtend hospitality to international students, such as welcoming them to the area, providing transportation to activities, and familiarizing them with their new environmentParticipate in an outreach activity, such as a Bible discussion group, friendship partnership, or 1-on-1 discipleshipChurch RelationsEstablish new church relationships Activate church coordinators and facilitate their involvementMaintain data related to church partnerships and coordinatorsVolunteer CoordinationWork with volunteers, including recruitment and matching to activitiesAttend and assist volunteers during outreach activities and big eventsMaintain data related to volunteersQualifications needed from the Norman Ministry Coordinator, including Spiritual CharacteristicsAdherence to IFI's statement of faith, core values, and policiesFaithful in evangelism and hospitality to international students as well as discipling believers to do the sameWell organized, takes initiative, able to work independently or collaborativelyFlexible and adaptableProficient with technology necessary to the ministry, including Microsoft Office and Google applicationsEducation/Experience Preferred for the Norman Ministry Coordinator:Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in education and/or ministry-related field or demonstrated experience mobilizing, training, and ministering to peopleCross-cultural ministry experience, preferredInternational Friendships, Inc.
