Job description

We're seeking a Sales Representative responsible for interacting directly with business owners at their place of business, community events, and job fairs across the area. Your goal is to generate leads and appointments by calling, emailing and visiting local businesses. As part of our sales team, you will explain the benefits of hiring temporary workers while representing the Goodwill brand with professionalism and enthusiasm.
This entry-level, part-time position offers paid training and a chance to build valuable skills in sales, negotiation, strategic planning and closing techniques. It's a great opportunity to explore your creative side of communication while introducing solutions to meet changing workforce demands without long commitments.
We value customer-facing experience in any industry. While backgrounds in areas such as sales, hospitality, retail, food service, education, or service are common examples, we welcome experience from any role that involves strong communication, adaptability, and interpersonal skills-qualities that are essential for success in this position. While direct marketing experience is a plus, it is not required.

About Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

In 1919, Reverend John S. German and a group of prominent civic leaders first incorporated the Baltimore Goodwill Industries and opened the first factory in the Fellowship Hall of Broadway Methodist Episcopal Church. Two indigent employees were hired to stencil and fold burlap bags for the collection of reclaimable household goods, which could then be sold. Proceeds from these collections would pay the workers, and thereby make the operation self-sustainable. Burlap bags and the jobs they created would come to symbolize the origins of the new organization, the slogan of which was “Not a charity, but a chance.” While Goodwill’s initial focus was helping those with disabilities find gainful employment, that mission has expanded over the years. Goodwill’s primary objective is to help individuals with barriers to employment become self-sufficient through training and employment services.
