Job description

Are you passionate about mentoring the next generation of nail artists? Highland Community College is seeking an Illinois-licensed Nail Tech Instructor. This is a part-time position scheduled for 28 hours per week. The scheduled days and hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach state-mandated subjects including nail anatomy, sterilization, OSHA standards, and advanced techniques like acrylics and light-cured gels.
  • Prepare students specifically for the Illinois State Board examinations.
  • Oversee students performing services on the public to ensure safety and sanitation compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student hours, grades, and attendance.

What We're Looking for:
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must hold a current Illinois Nail Technology Teacher or Cosmetology Teacher license.
  • Must have 2 years of full-time experience as a practicing nail technician within the last 5 years.
  • Completed one-time, approved course on abnormal skin growth education, including training on identifying melanoma.

Salary Range: $31.66 - $36.59 per hour
