Job description

Position Overview

Ellington Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and organized Part-Time Academic Tutor to support students at Ellington Middle School. The successful candidate will provide academic assistance for Grade 7 and Grade 8 mathematics.

ย This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working with middle school students and helping them achieve academic success.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have the ability to provide instructional support in middle school mathematics.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Be able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children or in an educational setting is preferred.

As required by Connecticut law, the selected candidate must successfully complete a state and national criminal background check and a Department of Children and Families (DCF) records review prior to employment.

Hours:

  • Monday - Friday: 10:46-2:22pm

  • This is an at-will, school-year position, with hours worked only on days when school is in session.
