Job description

JOB LOCATION - Wilkes-Barre General Hospital

Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacist(s), the pharmacy technician assists in all pharmacy operations' functions related to: (1) preparation & distribution of all doses of medication; (2) maintenance of drug inventories (e.g., re-stocking automated dispensing cabinets throughout the hospital, drug packaging/re-packaging, extemporaneous compounding, code cart re-stock, etc); (3) preparation of oncology drugs

Position Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma OR G.E.D. and one (1) to two (2) years supervised training or study required; courses in mathematics necessary

Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes

Verbal ability is necessary to understand physician's orders and terminology for transcribing information onto a patient's profile, also for labeling IV solutions and prescriptions. Adhere strictly to established practices.

Licenses/Certificates:

PA pharmacy technician trainee registration
