Primary Function
Wor-Wic Community College continuously accepts applications for part-time mathematics tutors to provide individual and small group tutoring for various courses from pre-algebra to calculus.
Essential Duties
The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.
  • Facilitating learning guides to assist students in becoming successful and independent learners
  • Increasing and enhancing the mastery of concepts or applications of a specific course of study
  • Integrating effective studying and learning strategies to maximize the tutee's potential for academic progress

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics or relevant field
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to relate to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds
  • A high level of responsibility, reliability and punctuality
  • The ability to follow directions
  • The ability to work independently
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a background in higher level mathematic classes, including precalculus, statistics and calculus
