Job Summary
Sylvan Learning of Omaha is looking for a part-time Reading and Math Tutor to join our team at our Northwest Omaha location. This individual contributor role will pay a competitive hourly wage of $15 to $17 per hour. The position's primary responsibility is to provide one-on-one academic support to students in a personalized learning environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Our Reading and Math Tutor position will offer a base hourly wage of $15 to $17 per hour, depending on availability and level of responsibilities. The position will also include an up to 35% discount on tutoring services. The best part about this position is you have the option to decide how much responsibility and how many hours you want to work.  It's a flexible, fun and supportive environment with no prep work, no late nights, early mornings, or holiday shifts.  Many of our full-time staff over the years have started out as instructors as well as many of the franchisees in the system!  It's a great place to explore education opportunities outside the typical classroom!
Responsibilities
• Facilitate a personalized learning program for each student
• Develop a rapport with our students to boost their academic confidence
•Coordinate and conduct student and parent reviews
• Keep accurate records of student progress
• Maintain a Goodwill Ambassador attitude at all times
• Advocate the Sylvan Learning philosophy
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a related subject, such as education, or a field of expertise, such as math or English is preferred but not required. College students in 3rd year of degree also acceptable.
• Previous teaching and/or tutoring experience with elementary, middle, or high school students is required
•  Proven success in consulting and/or working with parents and students
• Must have reliable transportation 

• Ability to work two afternoons/evenings after school each week (4:30-6:30pm) Monday through Thursday and at least one Saturday morning a month (9:15 to 11:45am) (No Fridays or Sundays) - Not a strong need for Saturdays right now.
