Who's the Right Fit?

We are looking for in-home, in-person High School Math and Science Tutors to support students throughout North Toronto and Downtown Toronto. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, committed to student success, and skilled at creating engaging, personalized learning experiences.

Qualified candidates will have experience tutoring or teaching high school English and be comfortable providing in-home, in-person instruction, with the option to support students online as needed. Familiarity with the Ontario secondary English curriculum (Grades 912) is essential.

As a Prep Academy Tutor, You Will:
  • Empower students with personalized academic support aligned with the Ontario secondary English curriculum.
  • Help students strengthen their reading comprehension, literary analysis, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills.
  • Prepare students for classroom assessments, culminating assignments, and exams, including support with OSSLT preparation where appropriate.
  • Develop customized lesson plans that promote deep understanding, confidence, and academic growth.
  • Provide both remedial support for struggling students and enrichment opportunities for those seeking advanced challenges.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and areas for improvement.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking knowledgeable, compassionate educators who meet at least oneof the following qualifications:

  • Hold current, valid registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
  • Are a certified teacher in Canada or the United States (or are in the process of becoming one).
  • Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program.
  • Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited Canadian or U.S. college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring high school English (Grades 912).
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario English curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to students' homes in North Toronto and Downtown Toronto.
