Type of Appointment: Unclassified - Tutor
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide academic assistance to students individually or in small groups to enhance student learning without compromising the quality of the student learning experience.
Review concepts and learning objectives for courses taught in General Biology, Cell Biology, and Microbiology, specific to the subject area, to be able to assist students with course content.
Assist students with understanding concepts presented in the classroom.
Distribute learning materials to supplement lessons presented in class (worksheets, study guides, test/exam reviews, etc.)
Provide basic technical support to students using the lab computers.
Communicate services to students and staff
Assist in carrying out the resource lab's rules and guidelines
Maintain the learning environment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition
Perform other duties related to the School of Stem as assigned.
Proctor exams as needed.
Required Education: Associate's Degree or higher with a minimum of 18 Hours of College Level-Biology courses.
Required Experience: Minimum of one year of general office experience or tutoring/teaching in a college setting.
Preferred Education: Associate's Degree or higher in Biology or related field
Preferred Experience: Minimum of one year of tutoring/teaching in a college setting.
