Math Instructor – Part-Time
Mathnasium – The Math Learning Center
Make a Difference With Math
Do you enjoy math and like helping students succeed?
Mathnasium is looking for enthusiastic, dependable Math Instructors to work with students from elementary school through high school in a fun, supportive learning environment.
This is a great part-time opportunity for college students, teachers, education majors, STEM majors, high-achieving high school students, retirees, and others with strong math skills who enjoy working with kids.
At Mathnasium, you won't have to create lesson plans or bring work home. We provide the curriculum, training, and instructional materials—you provide the math knowledge, encouragement, and ability to connect with students.
What You'll Do
As a Mathnasium Instructor, you will:
  • Work with students individually and in small groups, typically with up to four students at a time
  • Teach math using the Mathnasium Method™ and our established curriculum
  • Explain math concepts in ways students can understand
  • Help students strengthen foundational skills, close learning gaps, and build confidence
  • Challenge advanced students with enrichment and higher-level material
  • Assist students with homework and school-related math when appropriate
  • Engage students in conversation and create a positive, encouraging learning environment
  • Provide feedback on student progress to Center Directors
  • Help maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming center
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates should:
  • Have strong math skills atleast through Algebra 2 and Geometry.  Preferably knowledge up to Calculus.
  • Enjoy working with children and teenagers
  • Be patient, encouraging, personable, and positive
  • Communicate well with both students and other team members
  • Be dependable and arrive on time for scheduled shifts
  • Be comfortable working with multiple students during a session
  • Be willing to learn and consistently use the Mathnasium Method™
Prior tutoring or teaching experience is helpful, but not required. We provide training.

All applicants will complete a math competency assessment as part of the interview process.
Schedule
This is a part-time, in-center position. Most instructional hours are during weekday afternoons and evenings, with Saturday hours also available.
We are especially interested in candidates who can maintain a consistent weekly schedule throughout the school year.
