  • Math Instructor will report directly to the Director of Adult Basic Skills and will provide Math instruction for students enrolled in the Adult Basic Skills Program, helping students gain the knowledge needed to pass the High School Completion Test and earn their New Jersey High School Diploma.

Job Description
  • Provide Math instruction for adults enrolled in the ABS Program, from the Basic through Advanced level.
  • Employ a hands-on approach to teaching that will enable the students to master math competencies from foundational to intermediate/advanced (algebra)
  • Administer and analyze pre- and post-assessments to determine students' proficiency foundation and progress indicators as required.
  • Comply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education or Mathematics
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching Adult Basic Skills or post-secondary education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching older youth and adults ages 16-27.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching in an urban setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide instruction in Mathematics
  • Strong computer skills for instruction and academic assessment.
