Part-time Faculty: Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology

Location: Onsite - Pleasant Hill, CA

Position Summary

The PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology, housed in the JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences at the National University, invites applications for part-time faculty in Psychology. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of or potential for excellence in teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the university's diverse adult student body. This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Directors and other faculty within the program, and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
  • Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
  • Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
  • Develop, adapt, and/or update course content that aligns with course and program learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate individual student achievement on learning outcomes.
  • Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
  • Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.

Qualifications

Required

  • Doctoral Degree in Psychology or related discipline from a regionally accredited university.
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Must reside and be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to teach in-person at the Pleasant Hill, CA campus.

Preferred

  • Doctoral Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Doctoral-level teaching experience.
  • Be a Licensed Psychologist, or license-eligible, in the state of California.
  • Knowledge and experience in any of the following content areas: applied clinical theory, case conference supervision, psychometrics, assessment, psychopharmacology, psychobiology, neuropsychology, trauma psychology, integrated health, forensic or correctional psychology.
  • Demonstrated interest in/commitment to incorporating multicultural perspectives in your academic and/or clinical work.
