Job description

Description Title: Lecturer (Tropical Conservation Biology & Environmental Science) Position Number: LECTURER Hiring Unit: College of Natural and Health Sciences/ Department of Biology Location: UH Hilo Date Posted: May 8, 2026 Closing Date: Continuous Salary Information: Applicable Minimum for the Academic Year Temporary/Permanent: Temporary Other Conditions: Lecturer applicant pool for Academic Year 2026 - 2027. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance and availability of funding. Must be available to teach courses during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning, as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities Conduct lectures and laboratories in graduate-level courses in Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Science Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Biology, Marine Science, Geography, or related field Teaching and/or mentoring experience Desirable Qualifications PhD in Geography, Biology, Marine Science, or related field Teaching and/or mentoring experience at the graduate level A minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional experience working with tropical conservation biology, environmental science, GIS, and/or applied remote sensing To Apply: Click on the "Apply" button on the top right corner of the screen to complete an application and attach all of the required documents.
