Job Purpose
Competitive starting pay range $25/hr, eligible quarterly production bonus $200-$500, and full benefits from day one!!!
1st shift 4:30 am to 1pm or 5:00 am to 1:00 pm, Pay range $25/hr.
2nd Shift 4pm to 12:30 am, Pay range $25 plus $3.00 shift differential.
Overtime available
Progress Rail CNC Machine Operators work with heavy machinery producing railroad track components. They maintain equipment to ensure it operates safely and effectively. Their duties include preparing machinery for daily use, inspecting machinery for safety issues, and producing quality full track panels, turnouts and crossings, as well as build other rail components to customer specifications.

Education / Training
• HS diploma or equivalent
• understanding G&M codes
• overhead crane movement of large material
• 3 to 5 years CNC multi-axis (boring mills/bridge mills) set up and operation experience
Key Job Elements
• Read/interpret drawings/part specifications and verify/adjust speeds and feeds for optimum machining;
• Make necessary offset changes to be within allowable tolerances;
• Change inserts;
• Verify conformance of part to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as, scales, calipers, micrometers and fixed gauges; Fill out inspection reports as required;
• Clean machined parts to ensure ready for assembly;
• Report all issues in regard to tooling and setup to the supervisor;
• Keep a clean, organized and safe workplace;
• To be punctual, and act in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 2 years CNC multi-axis machine operator experience preferred;
• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision;
• Must be able to read and write legibly and complete production reports with accuracy;
• Must be able to read and use tape measure;
• Strong attention to detail with ability to inspect rail using measuring devices;
• Must be quality oriented and a team player;
• Must have complete understanding of safe work practices.
