We're looking for:

As a Lead Driver, you will work as part of our logistics team, and will lead a crew of Drivers each shift who are assigned to drive a variety of vehicles to & from our Vehicle Logistic Centers (VLC) (OPENLANE locations), providing our customers with local vehicle pick up & delivery services. You'll operate a lead (chase) van driver, and will be responsible for safely transporting your coworkers.

This is a part-time position, typically scheduled for 3-5 shifts per week. Hours may range from 8:30am - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.

You will:

  • Safely and efficiently transport other drivers to/from delivery locations, while observing safe driving rules, rules of the road, and demonstrating courteous and defensive driving principles.

  • Accurately input data using CarsArrive app pre/post delivery and may assist drivers with receiving instructions from our dispatch team

  • Ensure that vehicles are road-worthy by checking tires, fuel, lights, signals & brakes using our pre-trip safety process

  • Assist with boosting vehicles, checking fluids, airing up tires, and fueling vehicles as needed for transportation

  • Complete weekly safety inspection on Lead Van and report any concerns or maintenance needs to management

  • Report all incidents properly and immediately per established procedures

  • Represent the auction in a professional and efficient manner while providing excellent customer service and demonstrating teamwork

  • May be required to interact with dealership staff, coordinating pick up/delivery cheques, titles, or other paperwork

Must Haves:

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Safety conscious

  • Basic computer & smartphone skills required

  • Basic vehicle knowledge

  • Comfortable driving in all weather conditions

  • Comfortable driving long distances (up to 2 hours one way)

Nice to Haves:

  • Ability to drive a standard transmission

  • Basic mechanical aptitude

  • Flexible availability, as shifts needed weekly can vary based on volume
