Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets. 

The M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.

Bechtel is now accepting applications from graduates in all facets of Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) to join our 2027 Graduate Program located at our Brisbane office. Commencing in January 2027, the Bechtel Graduate ES&H position forms a part of our 2 year rotational graduate program, offering insights across major projects, functions, and offers you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the Mining and Metals industry. • Provides assistance in a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of Bechtel's ES&H program and ES&H Management System to include aiding in compliance with Bechtel's ES&H standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments 
• Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities 
• Maintains ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions 
• Performs data analysis to help identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement 
• Helps identify and coordinate any unique software systems used by ES&H personnel 
• Assists with risk assessments, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&H issues 
• Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention 
• Assists with incident notifications, investigations, and reporting 
• Recommends improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential 
• Participates in employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs 
• Supports ES&H recognition programs 
• Provides support to ES&H field and office personnel, inclusive of all ES&H disciplines 

• Applicants must have (or be about to complete) a Bachelor’s degree at an accredited university within the last 18 months.
• Be an Australian citizen or have the right to permanently work and remain in Australia without sponsorship, and,
• Be able to pass any pre-employment requirements such as a drug screen and background check.
