Job description

) We are hiring a part-time Staff Development Coordinator to join our team at Southeast Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in North Easton!
This is an in-person position at our facility. No remote work. Weekly pay ranging from $40 to $50 an hour, depending on licensure and experience. Can be an LPN or RN. 3 days a week.
This role assists with the direction of educational programs of all staff.
Experience & Education:
  • Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited school, university, or college of nursing.
  • Must be CPR certified.
  • Must have at least one (1) year experience in a long-term care facility.
  • Must possess an active and unencumbered LPN or RN license in Massachusetts.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that general orientation is completed for all employees.
  • Conduct job-specific orientation for Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants.
  • Identify needs for in-services and ongoing education by direct observations of care, review of issues identified in morning report, review of quality improvement reports, discussion with staff and managers.
  • Develop and implement educational programs based on identified needs to ensure personnel have the knowledge and skills.
  • Assure the use of learned skills in the clinical area through daily monitoring.
  • Provide all mandated training, eg., IV inservicing, fire safety, exposure control plans, etc.
  • Ensure that direct care providers receive 2 hours of pain management in-service annually.
  • Provide dementia care training to caregivers.
  • Develop and distribute annual and monthly education calendars.
  • Utilize various methods of teaching, including the utilization of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Maintain a library of resource information and self-study programs for facility staff.
  • Maintain staff development records accurately and timely.
  • Conduct C.N.A. training programs as required by the facility.
