Summary of Job Duties:
The Part-Time Adjunct Lecturer would work in the School of Nursing, teaching assigned online courses within the RN-to-BSN program. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
  • A master's degree with a major in nursing, OR A doctoral degree with a major in nursing, OR A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.), and a master's in nursing;
  • Applicant must also have a current, unencumbered Arkansas or multi-state RN license from a compact state or the ability to obtain Arkansas licensure prior to the position start date;
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in online nursing education.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:
  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field, or current enrollment in a doctoral program;
  • Teaching experience and recent experience in nursing practice or nursing education in the area(s) of the program need.
  • CNE Certification.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach assigned online courses and evaluate students in accordance with the School of Nursing guidelines;
  • Conduct online student learning activities designed to meet student and program learning outcomes;
  • Communicate with the School of Nursing Director, RN-to-BSN Program Coordinator, Course Coordinator, and students according to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and School of Nursing policies;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to teach and mentor students throughout the nursing program;
  • Ability to work with a diverse population;
  • Computer literacy and experience;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, nights, and weekends;
  • Ability to maintain scheduled virtual office hours.
