The Office of Graduate Admissions and Student Services (OGA) at the George Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) provides comprehensive information about SEAS graduate programs, processes a high volume of graduate applications and admission decisions, and provides professional advising services to the current SEAS graduate student body.
Position Specific Summary
GW Engineering seeks a student to work part-time in the Office of Graduate Admissions& Student Services to assist the recruiting and admissions team with daily tasks and special projects for 10-15 hours per week. This position will communicate with prospective students and applicants throughout the admissions cycle and assist the admissions committee. This position may occasionally assist with other special projects that contribute to the student experience and/or smooth operation of our office. This position is a great opportunity for someone interested in working in international education and/or university admissions.
Standard Position Description
The student will serve as an administrative assistant and perform tasks to support the operations of the office or department with limited oversight while completing assignments, projects, and duties. Tasks may also include: lead and organize administrative functions for mid to large scale programs, projects, or events, serve as a key point of contact for departmental inquiries, assist in the management of department or program communications and data entry/reporting, and/or provide oversight and support for student staff and other administrative tasks. Special projects or duties may be assigned related to specific office needs.

Previous skills, training, or experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Be a GW graduate student in International Education, Higher Education Administration, International Affairs, Communications, or a related field
- Have experience working in a university setting, especially with international students
- Have a high attention to detail and strong writing skills
