The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

Job Summary:
The Temporary Part-Time Landscaper supports the upkeep, appearance, and safety of the Ocean Beach Health grounds. This role focuses on landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, debris removal, and seasonal grounds projects. The ideal candidate works independently, follows written instructions, and takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming outdoor spaces for patients, visitors, and staff.
Performance Responsibilities:
  • Maintain hospital and clinic grounds in a clean, safe, and attractive condition
  • Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools
  • Perform routine grounds tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, and debris removal
  • Support seasonal projects such as planting, storm cleanup, and irrigation checks
  • Monitor outdoor areas for hazards and report issues promptly
  • Assist with light outdoor maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager
  • Follow daily task sheets and complete work with initiative and attention to detail
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance in accordance with hospital policy
  • Contribute to a culture of Patient-Centered Care and a safe work environment
  • Demonstrate commitment to the team and support co-workers as needed
  • Maintain practices of financial stewardship
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required
  • Must be able to respond to urgent grounds needs (e.g., storm debris, safety hazards)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or designee
