Summary of Position
The Adjunct Advanced Manufacturing/Robotics Instructor will be responsible forteaching advanced manufacturing and robotic technologies, focusing on industry-relevant skills and knowledge. This role involves providing hands-on training and mentoring students toward success in the courses.
Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology or a related field required (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
    • Relevant industry experience in advanced manufacturing processes and technologies.
    • Teaching experience in a higher education setting or vocational training environment is preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Ability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of current manufacturing software and tools (e.g.,CAD, SolidWorks, Tensile Test Machine, 3D Printer).
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate a high level of verbal and writing skills as well as computational skills.
  • Meet all regularly scheduled classes on time and for the full class period.
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management providing maximum opportunity for student progress.
  • Demonstrate organization of materials presented in the classroom
  • Ensure that the general and specific objectives defined in the syllabus are accomplished.
  • Utilize varied techniques of instruction.
  • Prepare and administer examinations that cover all materials taught and provide prompt feedback on exam results.
  • Ensure proper management and utilization of all instructional equipment, resources, and materials.

  • Design, implement, and evaluate instructional materials and training programs in advanced manufacturing.
  • Integrate emerging technologies and industry best practices into course content.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in both classroom and laboratory settings.

  • Mentor and advise students on academic and career pathways.
  • Provide feedback and assessment to ensure student understanding and progress.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with local manufacturing companies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and technologies to keep curriculum relevant.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance teaching skills and industry knowledge.
  • Engage in research and community outreach to promote the manufacturing program.
  • Attend trainings that could possibly lead to student certifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and program outcomes.
