Job Description:

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: Environmental Science Adjunct Instructor

The candidate selected for this position will serve as Adjunct Instructor of Environmental Science Technology. Principal assignment: North Metro or Online Campus. Employment is with Chattahoochee Technical College, not with a specific campus.

Prior to hiring, candidates will undergo a pre-employment criminal background check, motor vehicle records review, and employer/professional reference verification. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the Associate Dean of Professional Services and Design, the instructor will be responsible for providing guidance and instruction necessary to prepare students with the technical competencies essential to work in the area Environmental Technology. The instructor will perform all aspects of instruction for the Environmental Science degree program. Duties include: lecture, lab, instructional activities, evaluating students' progress, maintaining all required documentation, performs, and/or supervises lab set up/take down and ensures lab safety requirements and other duties as defined by The Technical College System of Georgia.

NOTE: Adjunct Instructor positions are part time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis. Therefore, your employment is limited and there is no expectation that your association with Chattahoochee Technical College will extend beyond this term.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Familiar with the Geographic Information System (GIS)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (In addition to the minimum qualifications)

  • A preference is given to applicants having a Master's degree
  • Industry certifications

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary varies depending on the course taught. There are no State benefits
