Activities Assistant, CNA – full time or part-time

Job Responsibilities for Activities Assistant·        

  • Plan, coordinate, create, and distribute the monthly calendar prior to the first day of each month.

  • Invite/assist residents to planned facility programming.

  • Document activity attendance on all residents.  Specify whether they actively participated, refused to participate at all, or passively participated.

  • Carry out 1-1 programming as indicated by your supervisor and the resident care plans.  Evaluate the need for 1-1 interaction on all residents on an ongoing basis.  Implement a 1-1 program for residents that indicate the need.  Document 1-1 interaction every visit.

  • Accompany residents on shopping outings and shop for those residents who have needs/wants but are unable to shop for themselves.

  • Assist with transportation as necessary.

  • Assist with making lab runs to the hospital as necessary.

  • Assist the social service department with room changes, inventories and packing/unpacking of resident belongings during an admission or discharge.

  • Maintain current pictures of residents for use in Point Click Care.

  • Assist residents to/from beauty shop each week.

  • CNA duties:  Physically assist any resident out of bed/chair etc. to make sure they get to the activity they desire.  This includes assisting residents to the bathroom if it means that doing so would get them to the activity that they desire to attend.

Job Qualifications for Activities Assistant

  • Previous job experience preferred but not required

  • Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the State of Kansas is preferred

  • Current CPR for Health Care Providers is preferred

  • Must have a clean driving history

  • Must have excellent time management skills and be able to work within deadlines

  • Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs
