Capital Choice Pathology Lab

Adventist Capital Choice Pathology seeks to hire an experienced Histotechnologist for our Silver Spring, MD location who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Histotechnologist you will:
• Performs and documents all aspects of routine histology procedures in an efficient and superior manner, that may include: microtomy, embedding, special stains, routine staining, quality control, performs periodic maintenance and troubleshoots instruments as needed, gross prosecuting, recycling solvents and formalin, verification and distribution of slides and non-specimen GYN preparations.
• Participates in department Performance Improvement and Continuing Education
• Maintains competency and proficiency. Complies with safety and infection control policies
• Assist with training and orienting new team members
• Perform appropriate lab duties using of the Laboratory Information System
• Promotes laboratory compliance
• Assist with compliance of all professional, federal, state and Cap requirements
• Consistently adhere to safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and policies
Qualifications include:
• Associates required or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Histotechinican (HT) certification or HT eligible by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
• Completion of an approved Histology training
• Minimum of at least two years as a bench tech in histology
