Description
Position: CDL Driver/Truck Driver
Reports To: Site Supervisor/Logistics Coordinator
Summary: Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 GVW, to transport and deliver goods, livestock, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form. May be required to unload truck. May require use of automated routing equipment. Requires commercial driver's license.
Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones, to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
  • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.

Physical Demands: The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
CDL Drivers/Truck Drivers must be willing to comply with PCM Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations. They must also comply with all governmental regulations.
