2026 Research Analyst
Essential Functions
Supports economists in a timely manner with research and/or Bank policy projects. This support may include guided research, literature reviews, model development and simulation, data collection and analysis, forecasting, programming, and other related duties.
Plans data collection, analyzes and interprets numerical data from surveys, experiments, studies, and other sources.
Evaluates reliability of source information, adjusts and weighs raw data, analyzes and interprets statistics and organizes results.
Prepares conclusions and predictions based on data summaries and presents analyses to economists.
Provides assistance in data collection, maintains databases, and prepares data for use in analytical work. Prepares and composes results of analyses for economists, as requested.
Participates in intellectual environment by attending seminars, conferences, and other related activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
Research Analysts must work at the Bank as part of the educational program training requirements after having been enrolled full-time in the University of Minnesota for one full academic year. The Research Analyst program must be for academic credit and approved by the University of Minnesota.
Education/Certification and Experience/Skills Required
Graduate program in Economics or related program in progress. Status as a student in good standing in that program is required for continued employment.
Advanced understanding of modern economic theory and its application to current economic issues. Requires strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
