Job description

Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for driving domain technology plans to align with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes for systems within a specific functional area.  Additional responsibilities include general technical oversight and mentoring of team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
  • Analyze, design, and develop domain roadmaps that align with goals, business plans, and business processes. 
  • Identify and implement ongoing opportunities for system and process improvements. 
  • Plan project activities for a development or engineering team to meet enterprise schedule. 
  • Create project design documentation and provide technical oversight to ensure successful delivery. 
  • Maintain domain standards complying with enterprise standards, ensuring solutions are optimally designed, secure, well performing and integrated with other solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technology for use in domain. 
  • Document domain technology used to perform business processes. 
  • Identify, analyze, and communicate architecture and integration options and make recommendations to management. 
  • Control project from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative and functional design. 
  • Provide general technical oversight and mentoring of team members.
     
Required Qualifications

Experience: 10+ years of increasingly technical Information Technology experience. 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.  
 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments. 
  • Advanced ability to comprehend business requirements to ensure technical directions are supportive. 
  • Advanced ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies. 
  • Strong knowledge of SOA and object-oriented analysis and design. 
  • Strong knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes. 
  • Strong ability to conduct analysis sessions and may contribute to "Closure Documents." 
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of technical architecture alternatives.
