Overview

A Catering Attendant plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing professional and efficient food and beverage service during events. Their primary function is to ensure that all guests feel welcomed and attended to, following event specifications and service standards. From the setup of banquet spaces to the seamless execution of meal service, Catering Attendants maintain an acute focus on detail and hospitality. Catering Attendants work collaboratively with kitchen and event staff to ensure the timely delivery of courses, adapt to guest needs in real-time, and uphold the ambiance and quality of the event. Beyond serving, Catering Attendants contribute to the overall success of events by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the service. Catering Attendants reset spaces for subsequent events and ensure that all equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately. Whether it's a formal gala, a corporate event, or a wedding reception, this applies. Catering Attendants are integral in creating a positive impression of the venue and event host, embodying professionalism, efficiency, and a guest-focused attitude. 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $19.00

Responsibilities
  • Reads and understands banquet event orders. 
  • Provides fine-dining-level food and beverage service to guests for all events, consistent with standards of service.
  • Initiates and maintains friendly and professional contact with guests, ensuring that all needs are anticipated and met.
  • Setup and maintain both food and beverage stations in various locations throughout the building consistent with standards of service.
  • Maintain an inventory for both food and beverage stations. 
  • Maintain all event areas and front-of-house staging areas in a tidy and organized manner.
  • Participate in both the setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items. 
  • Works independently during slower times.
  • Perform safe work by helping to create a safe and clean work environment. 
  • Has a high level of social contact and deals often with patrons. 
  • Ensures that work is accurate and complete. 
  • Maintains a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude. 
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED strongly preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted. 
  • 1+ years of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred. 
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often. Ability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays. 
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). 
  • Must be punctual with consistent attendance. 
  • Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers.
