Job description

Rhode Island Medical Imaging is currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus!*
SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Lead MRI Technologist and according to established policies and procedures, this individual will be responsible for performing and ensuring appropriate quality control, providing requested films of high diagnostic quality based on the specifics of each case, and interacting effectively and professionally with patients, referring physicians/their staff, and fellow employees while maintaining the best possible patient flow and throughput at all times.
SCHEDULE:
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:00 PM-9:00 PM and Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM at our Warwick, RI clinical site.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Physical dexterity and strength to operate all types of MR related equipment, properly position patients, and handle patient films and files.
  • Conceptual ability to determine means of providing requested studies based on the specifics of each case.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress, referring physicians and staff, radiologists, fellow employees, supplier and service representatives, and any/all others who they will come in contact with during the course of the business day.
  • Organizational skills as required by the position.
  • Analytical skills necessary for the compilation and interpretation of data.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide proper patient care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to perform exams as outlined by governing bodies and RIMI protocol.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/Portuguese) preferred but not required.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Must be ARRT registered, MR Certification
  • IV experience required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Walks and stands intermittently throughout the day.
  • May lift/position patients and supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move patients from scanner tables and transport patients in wheelchairs and/or stretchers.
  • Ability to crouch, reach, and lift to allow appropriate manipulation positioning and placement of ancillary equipment.
  • Will have exposure to high magnetic fields and cannot have any physical condition that would be aggravated by magnetic fields, acoustic noise, and occasional RF exposure.
  • Ability to work in Zone 3 and Zone 4.
