At ITA International, we’re a tech-enabled professional services company. Headquartered in Newport News, Virginia, we leverage subject matter expertise, data analytics and technology to challenge boundaries and transform possibilities.

With a global presence and a passionate team of over 200 ITAers, we’re driven by mission success for our customers, “In The Arena.” Our expertise spans Operations, Training, Engineering, Nanotechnology, Statistics, Machine Learning and Software Engineering – enabling data and tech-enabled solutions that deliver real value.

Join our impactful journey at ITA International. As Theodore Roosevelt said, “The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.” We’re here, standing beside our customers, ready to serve and succeed.

ITA is seeking a Special Advisor to the CEO on Army Operations to join the team at ITA's Headquarters in Newport News, VA.  This is a part-time temporary engagement of 3–6 months.

The Special Advisor to the CEO on Army Operations serves as a senior strategic and operational advisor responsible for strategic growth initiatives within the US Army market.

Executive Operational Advisor

  • Serve as principal advisor to the CEO on execution risk and growth plans.
  • Translate strategic priorities into executable operational plans across business capabilities.
  • Lead special initiatives tied to growth, integration, or performance improvement.
  • Provide independent assessment of Army program performance, operational gaps, and organizational effectiveness.

Strategic Growth & Solutions Integration

  • Engage directly with potential US Army customers to better assess customer evaluation priorities, procurement tendencies, and decision-making drivers to sharpen pursuit strategies.
  • Inform solution development by connecting customer problem sets to company capabilities.
  • Advise on common procurement risks and mitigation strategies that strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Work alongside growth and solutions teams to pressure-test capture strategies and validate execution approaches on priority pursuits.
  • Identify emerging requirements, market shifts, and white-space opportunities across the federal landscape.
  • Assess operational implications of new markets, contract vehicles, and acquisitions, including capability gaps that could impact delivery.

  • Demonstrated leadership of large, multi-location organizations
  • 10 plus years of experience with the US Army, ideally T2COM (or TRADOC or Army Futures Command)
  • Deep understanding of operational planning, force employment, readiness, and mission execution.
  • Experience managing complex logistics, personnel, and operational risk.
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition and government contracting environment.
  • Active security clearance (Secret; TS/SCI highly preferred).

ITA International proudly complies with all federal and state benefit and pay transparency laws. Employees of ITA can expect a robust benefit package, including:

  • Medical, dental and vision plans
  • Life Insurance
  • Short Term Disability insurance (where applicable)
  • Voluntary ancillary benefit options
  • 401k retirement benefits with employer matching contributions

Pay range for this position is $62/hr - $70/hr.

This position has a broad compensation range due to the complexities of government contracting, including contract pricing, labor category requirements, funding parameters, and varying levels of candidate experience and qualifications
