PositionJoin our team at Renton Technical College! The Institutional Research & Effectiveness office is looking for an experienced data analyst to provide temporary support on a variety of reporting and analytics projects during the summer.
This is a flexible, remote, hourly opportunity for someone who already has experience working with higher education data and is interested in picking up additional hours.
This is a part-time, temporary assignment of approximately 10-15 hours per week between July 2026 through September 2026. Scheduled hours will be based on project needs and availability. The pay range for this role is $35.52 - $44.57 hourly. Placement is based on applicable work experience. Please note that applicants must be residents of the state of Washington for consideration. The priority consideration date for applications is June 19, 2026. Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Include- Responding to ad hoc data requests from college departments.
- Writing and modifying SQL queries to extract data from institutional systems.
- Cleaning, validating, and organizing data for analysis.
- Creating Excel-based reports and data files.
- Building or updating Tableau dashboards and visualizations.
- Assisting with institutional, grant, and other reporting projects.
- Documenting queries and reporting processes as needed.
- Perform other related projects and assignments as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Experience working with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, religious, gender, socio-economic, ability, and educational backgrounds, and a demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- One year of relevant work experience with research or data.
- Strong SQL and Excel skills
- Experience with Tableau or similar dashboarding tools
- Familiarity with ctcLink/PeopleSoft data structures and reporting environments
- Experience in institutional research, enrollment reporting, student success analytics, or related work
- Experience performing data analytics work in the Washington CTC system preferred.
- Ability to independently manage partnerships, communication, scheduling, and follow-through across multiple stakeholders and locations.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated attention to detail required as well as previous experience maintaining accurate records, managing multiple tasks, and planning and organizing work in order to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to promote universal design and accessibility. Proficiency in (or ability to learn within 6 month of hire) the production of accessible content, whether print or electronic.
- Ability to represent the college in a positive and professional manner, while using tact, discretion and courtesy.
- Ability to speak a regionally top spoken language other than English is preferred (Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Somali, and Chinese)
WORKING CONDITIONS:Frequent use of a computer and exposure to terminal screens is required. Remote work may occur as business permits.

Flexible Spending Arrangement (FSA& LPFSA) & Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP)The FSA, LFA and DCAP plans are offered by the College and the State of Washington. FSA is a PEBB sponsored benefit program that allows you to use pre-tax money in a calendar year to pay for certain out-of-pocket medical expenses and/or Childcare expenses.
An FSA can save you 25 - 40% on your eligible expenses. Both plans are offered as payroll deductions.

Flexible Spending Arrangements can be between a minimum of $120 to maximum of $3,400. As a "use it or lose it" IRC governed plan, medical expense reimbursements can be requested for employees, spouse, or their IRS eligible dependents.

Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Arrangement can be between a minimum of $120 to maximum of $3,400. As a "use it or lose it" IRC governed plan, medical expense reimbursements can be requested for employee, spouse, or their IRS eligible dependents. Limited Purpose FSA is for employees enrolled in CDHP plans with HSA. Funds can only be used for dental and vision expenses only.
Dependent Care FSA (DCAP) allows you to save on child or elder care expenses. (e.g., babysitting, daycare, in-home care for an older dependent inept of self-care). Annual contribution is $7,500 for a Single person or Married couple filing a joint tax return. Contribution of $3,750 for each married participant filing separate tax returns.
Life-InsurancePermanent employees, lawful spouse, qualified same-sex domestic partner and dependent children under 26 years of age are eligible to enroll in life Insurance. Coverage is effective first of the month following the date of employment for basic coverage; for optional coverage, amounts become effective the first of the month following approval date.
- Basic Coverage: $35,000 Basic Term Life & $5,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) This is employer provided at no cost to theemployee.
- Supplemental Life Coverage(s): Supplemental term insurance coverage for employee, lawful spouse, qualified same-sex domestic partner and family is available in$10,000 increments from $10,000 up to $100,000, at additional cost to the employee.
- Supplemental AD&D Coverage: Voluntary Accidental Death and Dismemberment for employee, lawful spouse, qualified same-sex domestic partner and family is available at additional cost to employee.
Life Insurance Evidence of Insurability may be required for certain supplemental coverage amounts.
Long-Term Disability (Two Plans offered)
- Basic Plan: Employer provided and at no cost to the employee. It Provides 60% of the first $750 pre-disability monthly earnings, reduced by any deductible income. The maximum benefit $450 per month; the minimum benefit $100 per month. Benefits begin after 90 days of disability or the period of accumulated sick leave, whichever islonger.
- 2 Optional Plans: 60% and 50% of pre-disability monthly earnings, reduced by any deductible income, and is available at additional cost to employee. Maximum benefit for 60% plan is $10,000 per month and $8,333 per month for the 50% plan. Premium for the optional plans is determined by employee type and waiting periodselected.
