Mascenic High School is seeking an engaging and passionate educator to join our team as a
.5 Family and Consumer Science Teacher. This position is ideal for an educator who believes in the power of applied learning and is excited about helping students develop the essential life skills needed for independence, health, and success beyond high school.
We are particularly interested in candidates who bring energy to
hands-on instruction in food and nutrition, while also helping students explore human development and the skills needed to navigate adolescence and early adulthood.

practical skills, science, social-emotional learning, and real-world applicationCourses may include:- Food and Nutrition - Culinary skills, food safety, nutrition literacy, meal planning, and wellness
- Lifespan Development - Human development with emphasis on adolescence and young adulthood, relationships, decision-making, and life readiness
- Housing and Interior Design - Principles of design, budgeting, sustainability, and functional living environment
Key Responsibilities:- Create engaging learning experiences that combine hands-on skill development with conceptual understanding
- Foster a classroom culture focused on independence, responsibility, and real-world readiness
- Incorporate project-based and inquiry-driven instructional practices
- Maintain safe and effective lab environments for culinary and design instruction
- Build strong relationships with students to support both academic and personal growth

Qualifications:- New Hampshire certification (or eligibility) in Family and Consumer Science or related field
- Passion for teaching food preparation, nutrition, and applied life skills
- Understanding of adolescent development preferred
- Experience with project-based or applied learning environments is a plus
- Strong communication and classroom culture-building skills
