Job description

Part-Time Weekend Box Truck Driver

Pay: $21–$25 per hour
Schedule: Weekends
Job Type: Part-time

Intermountain Express Transport is hiring a dependable and safety-focused Box Truck Driver for a dedicated weekend route. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working independently, follows directions carefully, and can complete a consistent route safely and on schedule.

Schedule

Currently, this position consists of one Sunday afternoon route.

  • Sunday start time is approximately 2:00 p.m.

  • The route typically ends between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m.

Beginning in September, the position may expand to approximately 16 total hours each weekend, with work split between Saturday and Sunday.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a company box truck along an assigned route.

  • Complete all scheduled stops safely, accurately, and on time.

  • Load, secure, transport, and unload freight safely.

  • Verify route information and required paperwork.

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

  • Report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

  • Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.

  • Complete route logs, delivery records, and other required documentation.

  • Communicate delays, route issues, or other concerns to dispatch.

  • Assist with basic warehouse or loading duties as needed.

Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to meet company insurance requirements.

  • Box truck /commercial driving experience required.

  • Dependable and able to work independently.

  • Strong attention to detail and time management.

  • Comfortable loading, unloading, and safely moving freight.

  • Must be available for the full scheduled route.

Compensation

Starting pay ranges from $21 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.


Job Requirements for Local Delivery Driver


  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience driving a 20' box truck or bigger.

  • Ability to operate delivery vehicles

  • Strong knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

  • Availability to work weekends
